We will again be using the facilities of Camp Fort Bluff for the 2019 season. The camp is situated in the mountains near Dayton, Tennessee. While the property is spread out, all activity sites and housing are in close proximity. As with all of our camps, Camp Fort Bluff will again focus on strengthening relationships with God and each other as we strive to live a Christian life. Our spiritual activities include First Things, Compass Checks, Bible studies with a question-and-answer format, and our nightly dorm parent meeting at tuck in.
Camp Fort Bluff also has many activities to offer, including multiple playing fields, sand volleyball courts, an indoor basketball court, a swimming pool and water slide, and a pond with a blob and water obstacle course. Our indoor activities include dance classes, a cooking class, and Christian Living classes.
We hope to have many of you join us for fun and fellowship at Camp Fort Bluff.
We would like all of our campers to arrive at Camp Fort Bluff between 3:30 and 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 28. We ask that campers arriving by air use the Nashville International Airport (BNA) and schedule their flights to arrive on Sunday morning[BB1] . We will provide transportation from the airport to camp, but keep in mind that it is a two-hour drive from the airport to camp. Our last shuttle will leave for camp at 2:30 p.m. For those arriving earlier than Sunday afternoon, there will be an additional fee of $15.
Camp ends on Sunday, Aug. 4, at 9 a.m. For departure, we ask that all campers be picked up between 9 and 10:30 a.m. That will give us time for one last inspection of the camp. We must be off the camp premises by noon to accommodate other groups who will be arriving after us.
Staff should plan to arrive at camp on Saturday evening around 8 p.m. We are again planning to have Sabbath services in Nashville this year. After services, there will be a meal provided before we all head off to camp. If you plan on flying, please arrive on Friday evening. We will attempt to find overnight housing with local members.
Staff is needed for all venues, but we have a special need for young adult males—both for counseling and for activity staff. There is also a need for medical staff (doctor or nurse), certified lifeguards with first aid/CPR certification, and staff with experience in photography and videography. We also need staff experienced in archery, basketball, dance, field games (softball, flag football, speedaway) and counseling.
