This will be our second year at Camp Fort Bluff, situated in a beautiful location on top of Dayton Mountain in central Tennessee. The property is large yet activity sites and housing are in relatively close proximity. It’s a wonderful environment to strengthen your relationship with God and with peers and adults who are striving to walk a Christian life.
Relationships are a very important component of our COGWA Youth Camps and the whole week will be full of active times and quiet times to build those bonds with one another. Christian education is woven throughout the day with Compass Checks, classes and nightly tuck-ins in the dorms. We are also adding “First Things” this year to help each person get the day started off on the right foot.
Camp Fort Bluffhas much to offer us during the week: multiple playing fields, three sand volleyball courts, a beautiful indoor basketball court, gaga ball, human foosball, 9 square in the air, a large swimming pool, a water slide, a waterslide, and a lake that contains not only a blob, but also a water trampoline. As in the past, we will have two dances as well as a dance class. And this year.
Make plans to join in the fun and fellowship at Camp Fort Bluff!
Transportation by air
We ask that campers arriving by air use the Nashville International Airport (BNA) to fly to camp this summer and that you arrive Sunday morning, July 29. We will provide free transportation from the Nashville airport to camp in the form of two shuttle runs. The first will leave the airport on Sunday, July 29, at 12 noon and the second will leave at 3 p.m. If you wish to have a ride from their airport to camp, please arrange your flight to arrive in time to catch one of those shuttles.
For departure, please arrange flights that leave BNA between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday Aug. 5. We will provide shuttle transportation from camp to BNA, but it’s at least a 2½-hour drive.
Campers traveling by car
If traveling by car, campers should arrive Sunday, July 29, between 2 and 5 p.m. The camp does not start providing meals until Sunday evening. Campers arriving early will need to pay an additional fee of $10. Acceptance packets will include details.
For departure, campers need to be picked up between 9 a.m. and noon on Sunday, Aug. 5. We must be off the property by noon to make way for other arriving groups.
Staff should arrive for training on July 28. If flying, staff members should strive to arrive in Nashville on Friday, July 27. (We will attempt to locate overnight housing with local members.) Services followed by a meal are planned in Nashville on the Sabbath of July 28 before driving to the camp.
