Camp Lone Star Update

June 10, 2025

Hello, Everyone,

We’re having a wonderful time here at Camp Lone Star, near College Station, Texas. Camp kicked off on Sunday with 122 campers and 96 staff members.

Going in, we were keeping a close eye on the forecast, with concerns about both high heat and probable rain. Aside from a brief, but powerful early morning storm on Monday, the weather has cooperated. It’s been hot, but thankfully dry, and so far we’ve been able to carry out all scheduled activities.

The campers are having a blast with our lake activities, which include swimming, fishing, zip-lining, canoeing and the blob. Our other activities include team challenge, recreation, music, archery, arts and crafts, and the escape room.

The theme, “Seek First the Kingdom,” is going over well. Each day starts with a Christian Living class that focuses on a different aspect of Matthew 6:33—what it means to seek, to seek first, to seek the kingdom, and to seek righteousness.

Rain is still in the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, so we’re praying it won’t disrupt too many activities.

Thank you for your continued prayers for a safe and successful camp. God has truly blessed us so far, and we trust He will continue to do so!
