Midwest Preteen Camp Update
June 29, 2026
Greetings from Williamsburg, Kansas!
We are off to a great start at Midwest Preteen Camp! The 55 campers, 60 staff and 15 apprentice staff (ages 13 to 14) all seem locked in and excited to be at camp together!
Though the weather has been hot, with temperatures in the 90s, it hasn’t hindered everyone’s enthusiasm and focus on the activities and theme education. We feel very blessed to have a steady south wind of around 20 miles per hour, with gusts approaching 30 miles per hour. The strong breezes, combined with the many shaded areas around camp, have made being outdoors pleasant despite the summer heat.
The campers have also enjoyed spending time in air-conditioned areas for some activities, including campus outreach and arts and crafts. One of the dining hall’s air-conditioning units appeared to malfunction yesterday evening. Thankfully, it was unrelated to last year’s issue. Camp management responded quickly by replacing the thermostat, and the dining hall has been nice and cool again—a welcome reprieve from the outdoor heat. Everyone is looking forward to our first evening activity in the dining hall—a creative team-building activity.
Thank you for your continued prayers as we strive to collectively “Build on the Right Foundation.”
