Sunshine at Camp Harmony

June 10, 2025

Greetings, Everyone,

As is usual, and as we appeal to our Almighty God, Camp Harmony began with sunshine and mild temperatures, which was not the forecast last week. The area had been saturated in the previous weeks, and some rain came in early on Friday. But when a few of us arrived on Saturday evening, the skies were clear.

We had a beautiful Sunday to get things organized and to get the staff and campers checked in. It was a great start! A bit of rain is supposed to come in this evening, but nothing like what was forecasted last week! We’ll have sunshine and average temps in the mid-70s for the remainder of camp!

The activity staff is knocking it out of the park with their ideas with our theme. With 124 (64 campers and 60 staff), we are tied for our highest attendance in the Southeast.

The facility continues to be improved, and I had to turn down campers this year. Yesterday I met with the CEO of the Harmony Family Center and asked her about the possibility of building another camper dorm. Quite a few of our men are builders who had let me know that they would be happy to help whenever a need arose. (I never asked . . . they simply volunteered.) When I mentioned this to the CEO, she teared up and gave me a hug!

Your prayers are appreciated that this connection can continue to grow and that we can meet here in the coming years with additional space to accommodate everyone who desires to come.
