Camp Sequoia Preteen 2024

July 16, 2024

It’s been just wonderful here in the Sierra Nevada mountains as the preteen Camp Sequoia began. We have 39 enthusiastic campers and staff enjoying warm days in the 90s and cool evenings in the 60s.

All of the activities are going extremely well, with no injuries to speak of. The biggest hit for the campers is the water slide bounce house. We have 100 percent sunshine, so the need to hydrate and put...

Camp Harmony Is Running

July 2, 2024

Unlike previous years where the ministerial and kitchen staff could access our facility on Saturday evening, we began our “journey” at Camp Harmony in Maryville, Tennessee, at approximately 9 a.m. on Sunday morning. With a new facility, we found a few challenges, but we were able to adjust and have everything prepared for the camper check-in at 3 p.m.

The day was quite hot and unusually humid...

Challenger Camp 2024 Update

June 26, 2024

We are midweek through the Challenger Camp 2024. We started off with a fun meet and greet Sunday evening. Bonds began to be built immediately. During the first night we had torrential rains but that didn’t dampen spirits. So far, the rest of the weather has been warm and blue sky.

The next two days the group hiked 23 miles to an elevation of over 6,500 feet. The views of the Smoky Mountains were...

Winter Camp Running Well

December 30, 2023

Winter Camp is off to a great start. We had only a short delay for one of the flights coming in, which was so much better than last year. All the campers and staff arrived safely—and excited about camp.

We have had a mild winter here so far and have no snow or ice, but we are making the best of it. We have had to make some changes with the activities, but I think the campers will still enjoy...

Camp Heritage Update

August 8, 2023

Greetings from the shores of beautiful Lake Courage in Farmington, Pennsylvania.

CYC Heritage is off to a great start. The giant weather system parked in the Northeast sent multiple waves of rain through southwestern Pennsylvania. While it soaked the area, it did not dampen the spirits of these incredible campers.

Monday morning Dave Myers gave a Christian Living class titled...

Camp Athens’ numbers are running at 61 campers and 56 staff members, and all is going well. We have two campers from the U.K., who have traveled across the pond to join us. We’re also blessed with five from Chile and one from Alaska.

Temperatures have exceeded 100 degrees Fahrenheit every day so far, but our only strenuous outdoor activity is speedaway. In fact, most...

Midwest Preteen Camp Going Well

July 31, 2023

Things are going well here in El Dorado Springs, Missouri, and we are off to a great start. This is not just because Nathan Willoughby’s father smoked five amazing briskets for all to enjoy for dinner last night!

The staff and campers are enthusiastic, and everyone has an air-conditioned dorm to sleep in, which is very nice! We certainly appreciate the prayers (and continued prayers) for...
